Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Has Died in a Los Angeles Traffic Collision
Vince Zampella, the mind behind the wildly popular first-person shooter Call of Duty, has tragically died in a car accident in California aged 55.
The tragic news was announced by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the video game company he co-founded.
The celebrated game designer lost his life when his automobile collided and was engulfed in flames on a motorway in the Los Angeles area on Sunday, US media outlets report.
"This represents a heartbreaking loss, and we stand with Vince's loved ones, his family, and all those touched by his legacy," a representative from Electronic Arts stated.
