The Lionesses take on the Chinese team – Female Exhibition Fixture
Introduction
Hello and welcome to the friendly fixture between the English side and China at Wembley Stadium. This promises to be an exciting contest with the European Championship holders facing the current Asian Cup champions.
The iconic Wembley is sold-out for the match, which will see the celebrated Fran Kirby honored pre-match after her international retirement before the European Championship this past summer.
Lineup details will be revealed soon, but there was a last minute squad update for England. On Friday, Khiara Keating withdrew from the squad with a minor injury, and so former number one Ellie Roebuck has been summoned.
With Hannah Hampton injured, it will be interesting to see who the Lionesses' coach Sarina Wiegman selects in goal. Those details along with further updates are incoming before the start of the match at 5:30 in the evening GMT.
Lineup Announcements
Squad details are now available. Anna Moorhouse is the starting keeper for England in the non-presence of Hannah Hampton and Khiara Keating.
The Lionesses: Moorhouse, Bronze, Charles, Walsh, Le Tissier, Morgan, Mead, Stanway, Russo, Toone, Hemp.
Bench: Hings, Baggaley, Kendall, Wubben-Moy, Beever-Jones, Kelly, Kearns, Park, Blindkilde Brown, Roebuck, Clinton, Denton, Fisk, Godfrey.
We are awaiting China’s team news now; as soon as I have it, I will post it.
Leadership Role
