Nigel Farage Claims Educators of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Racial Topics

Nigel Farage has asserted that educators would initiate walkouts shortly after a success at the polls for his party, accusing them of “harming young minds” by telling children that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

At a gathering for a private US Christian college, the politician expressed his perspective on the UK education system, stating that the “Marxist left” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I’m anticipating a teachers’ strike soon after securing a victory,” he remarked during a Q&A session.

“They are poisoning our kids. They are telling them to feel guilt about their nation. They are telling an eight-year-old black child that he is oppressed and a white child of the same age that he is a perpetrator. They are dividing us, not uniting us. They are feeding this negative culture.”

In response to Farage’s claims, Daniel Kebede rejected the idea that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “absurd”. He pointed out that any strikes must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and doubted whether the party would target these right after taking office.

“The politician has crafted his public life on dog-whistle politics and currently, similar to other figures, he is targeting educators and their unions for a fight,” Kebede stated.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. I don’t – and nor does my union – push critical race theory as he’s suggesting … If he were to lead the government he would sell out our public services, including education … and he would be a disaster for students and learning.”

Reform, which tops surveys by about 10 points, has provided limited specifics on its educational plans and does not appear to have appointed an education spokesperson.

Nonetheless, Farage’s remarks indicated the party would overhaul the system and the curriculum. He said: “We face an enormous task with schooling – absolutely herculean. Moreover, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it will take us years, years to turn this around.”

He stated that gen Z was more open to critical thinking, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Honoring Charlie Kirk, Farage said: “My goal for schooling is to foster independent thought – to instruct people that there are two points of view and you make up your own mind as opposed to what’s happening now where views are labeled good or bad. This is a huge undertaking in the UK and US.”

Reform has previously clashed with a major educators’ organization, after Kebede called the party “far right and racist” and dismissed Farage as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

Farage has accused the union head with being “an avowed radical” … someone who is absolutely determined that our children should be poisoned through education, their thinking tainted regarding national issues” and maintained that the union is trying to indoctrinate youth opposed to his party.

Almost one million people are employed in education in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The major education union has about 450,000 members.

National strikes over educators’ salaries and work environment in recent years led to significant interruptions in schools and millions of days of lost learning for students.

During the American gathering, the Reform leader also pledged to help spread the online educational material of the institution in the UK. He said organizations like it were “part of the fightback”, noting: “I mean this. I will help attract vast numbers of youth to your online courses. I pledge this tonight and I’ll do that.”

The institution, a small private Christian college, offers free courses. According to its online description: “Comprehensive learning is necessary for personal happiness and to maintain the benefits of freedom. The college furnishes these excellent programs for no charge to all who wish to learn.”
