Iranian Forces State Assault on American Facility in Bahrain, During Widespread Counterattacks.
Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a "massive" and ongoing assault targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone near the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any impact is uncertain and the American officials has remained silent.
Missile Defenses Activated
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house US military bases - said they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.
IRGC Statement
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was striking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on the Islamic Republic launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That preceding assault - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck sites linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump urging the Iranian people to revolt against the government.
Wider Impacts
In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with notable success and destroyed a number of missiles," it added.
The statement noted missile fragments fell on a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some property damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
