A man from Australia that leaped over a barricade and touched Hollywood star Ariana Grande has been expelled and barred from Singapore.

Johnson Wen, aged 26, was sentenced to more than a week in prison for causing a public disturbance and has now been "banned from entering the country again," the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority stated to local media.

He forced his way past photographers and rushed toward the celebrity, who was present at the Asian debut for Wicked: For Good on 13 November. Co-star Cynthia Erivo wrestled him away from Grande.

The individual has a record of disrupting concerts and celebrity events, including jumping on stage at a Katy Perry performance in Sydney in this summer.

The incident caused anger in Singapore, with numerous people claiming he of re-traumatising Grande.

The pop star has discussed suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after a terrorist bombing at her performance in the UK city in several years ago took the lives of 22 people and injured hundreds.

In the legal process, the authorities learned he had tried to gain access on the film's premiere twice, according to local news sources.

He then made a another effort to jump the barricades. Protection personnel intercepted him and restrained him.

He then uploaded video clips appreciating the celebrity for allowing his presence and said he was "released."

Authorities took him into custody the next day and charged him with causing a disturbance, to which the man admitted guilt.

The District Judge the magistrate was referenced by a news outlet as stating that he was looking for publicity, noting that he was mistaken to think he would not experience repercussions.

Grande has not addressed the situation.

The co-star discussed the situation to the press, saying that she "only aimed to make sure my friend was secure."

"I think he had no intention to us harm, but you never know with such situations, and I aimed to make sure that she was alright. That was my first instinct," she said.
