Former Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Patients

Prosecutors have stated that a ex- physician has been charged with performing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were patients.

The Grave Allegations

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous sexual offences – some of which involve acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.

One deputy chief CPS official stated, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

The Police Inquiry

The charges come after what investigators described as a “complex investigation” into reported sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.

Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

The charging documents outline the forty-five sexual offences comprise:

  • Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
  • 17 counts of assault by penetration.
  • 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
  • Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
