Brian Eno Calls On Public Help to Get Palestinian Solidarity Song to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A campaign is aiming to propel a traditional song from Palestine to the top of the UK charts. The effort hopes to provide aid to people in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian cultural expression.

An Opportunity for Solidarity and an "Chart Upset"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a moment to show solidarity with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He noted the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“That would be amazing if that came to pass, yes,” he stated. “I wouldn't be completely let down if it fails to, festive releases are a category of their own.”

Resilient Spirit of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the version of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's powerful central theme.

“The song holds a profound significance for countless listeners,” Barghouti shared. “It’s basically saying that I would choose to perish with honor than spend my life without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we want to live a dignified life that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Production History and Star-Studded Lineup

The single was laid down after a large-scale benefit event held in the autumn. Originally intended to be captured during the live event, the performance was shelved during the concert due to time constraints.

The impressive roster of artists featured on Lullaby includes a selection of well-known figures from the industry. All participated in the benefit event, which managed to collect a significant sum for relief efforts.

Production and Release

Lullaby was crafted by a team of talented individuals. The track blends a mix of the traditional Arabic lyrics with freshly written English words.

The organizers behind the initiative have stated that their aim is to raise as much as possible for a specific fund. These resources will be channeled to Palestinian causes through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“There is no a specific target,” a spokesperson explained. “We will pursue the maximum achievable. Obviously, the greater the amount, the better. Every penny goes out to Gaza.”

The context in the territory was noted for its extreme devastation, with a overwhelming percentage of property described as levelled or seriously harmed.

“In that context, a couple of million is unlikely to make an enormous impact. But I think what truly matters is primarily raising awareness for this issue and proving the human dimension of the story.”

The track is launching this Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the charity concert will be made ready to watch on a popular streaming site from the 19th of December.
